City Of Lumberton Annual Wastewater Treatment Plant Performance
2023 Report (Permit # NC0024571)
The City of Lumberton is pleased to present the Annual Wastewater Treatment Plant Performance Report for the fiscal year 2023.
This report is done annually for North Carolina customers and North Carolina Department of Environmental and Natural Resources.
The report is from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023. The report includes twelve months of effluent limitations and monitoring
requirements as required by plant discharge permit # NCO024571.
The Wastewater facility is located at 700 Lafayette St. Lumberton, N.C. 28358. The Operator in Responsible Charge is Henry Harper.
Persons needing any additional information concerning this report can call the Wastewater Treatment Plant at 910-671-3859.
The facilities pumping capacity is 20 million gallons per day; and classified as an activated sludge, extended aeration process. All
domestic and industrial wastewater generated is treated at the facility with a daily discharge effluent to the Lumber River. All Blo-
Solids generated at the facility are land applied under permit # WQ0000672 issued by the state of North Carolina. The discharge to
the Lumber River is tested and monitored per regulations in permit # NC0024571. The facility reports monthly to the NC
Department of Environmental and Natural Resources.
Wastewater Facility Performance
The City of Lumberton Wastewater Treatment Facility did perform well for the report iBg period. However the facility had permit
reporting violations for the months of: ECEIVED
October 2022: Week 6 Fecal exceeded permit limitations. JUG 10 2023
April 2023: NH3 exceeded effluent permit limitations. CENTRAL FILES

May 2023: May 2nd,23rd,31n Chlorine exceeded permit limitations.
June 2023: June 51",7tn 8tn 9tn 261h29`n Chlorine exceeded permit limitations.
All other months were in compliance with permit requirements.
Notification Statement
The City of Lumberton will advertise in the stated Newspaper (Robesonian) for a period of one week/five days. The 2023 Annual
Wastewater Facility Report will be on file at the City Clerk's Office at 500 N. Cedar St. Lumberton, N.C. 28358. A copy of this report
can be obtained by contacting the City Clerk's office at (910)-671-3807.
