I have determined the proposed work to be maintenance and repair of an existing structure and therefore will not require a CAMA permit from the N.C. Division of Coastal Management. Please be reminded that the fender system repairs must remain within the same footprint and not encroach into the navigational channel. If any aspect of this authorization request should change, please contact me before proceeding. Contact me with any questions or if I may be of any further assistance with this project. They are replacing them in-kind, with the exact same structure. There will be no new pilings, dolphins or other structures. This was done on the Perquimans 8 bridge on the Perquimans river several years ago and it was considered repair and maintenance. We also replaced a portion of the fender system on the Alligator bridge and that was repair and maintenance, but the COE issue a NW 3 for that one. So, I wanted to check with you all and see how you wanted to proceed. Please, let me know. 1 Thanks, Clay NCDOT – Division One Environmental Supervisor Office – 252-482-1876 Cell – 252-312-3692 tcwillis@ncdot.gov Email correspondence to and from this sender is subject to the N.C.
