The UT to Little Tennessee River is located in the town of Franklin adjacent to the intersection of Riverview Street and Woodland Hills Drive (Sta. 28+00 -L- Rt.). The site consists of approximately 190 linear feet of stream restoration that was used to offset impacts associated with the R-2408A project. The stream restoration was constructed and re-vegetated with the appropriate hardwood species. Per permit requirements, NCDOT was required to monitor the stream restoration site for channel stability and survival of planted species by visual observation on an annual basis for three years or until success criteria were met. During the monitoring period, annual monitoring reports were submitted to the appropriate regulatory agencies via the Natural Environment Section's (NES) website: htts://connect. ncclot. ovh°esozrr•ces/Envi°onmental/Paes/Permits-and-Mitiation. asz After three years of vegetation and stream stability monitoring, the UT to Little Tennessee River stream restoration site indicates that the planted vegetation is surviving and the streambanks remain stable at this time. Individual annual monitoring reports are available on NES's website for 2012-2014.
