In 1987, the following additions were installed to bring the Fourth Creek WWTP operable at the 6 MGD capacity. • A 70' diameter x 12' deep final clarifier bringing the total to 3 final clarifiers. • A second chlorine contact and effluent reaeration basin. • A new aerobic digester with (3) 60 hp mechanical aerators. • A new sludge pumping station with dual 25 hp rotary lobe sludge pumps. • A new belt type filter press with associated polymer system, piping, valves, and fittings for sludge dewatering. The above additions are based on a set of drawings dated 1987, project t# 0732 from Peirson & Whitman Inc. Consulting Engineers. Upon the start of my employment with the City of Statesville in 1996, the above additions had already been installed and completed. The above information is to the best of my knowledge and will serve as an amendment to the NPDES application renewal process.
