GABION BASKET WALL
Description
Construct a gabion basket wall to the dimensions shown on the
plans.
Materials
Galvanized steel baskets ASTM standard A1057/A1057M
Washed Stone ASTM C615/C615M
Rip Rap ASTM C615/C615M
Construction Methods
Grade a 5' wide area for the foundation stone. Place 6 -8" of
washed stone as the wall foundation. Construct baskets to a
dimension of 4 feet wide by 5 feet deep by the specified length.
Fill baskets with 6" nominal size rip rap; arranging the rip rap to
minimize voids. Secure the baskets with galvanized steel wire.
Stack baskets to the specified height offsetting each subsequent
row by 1 Y2 '. Backfill with 6" of stone.
