Family is growing. With additional in-laws, grandchildren & pets, we need more patio/deck space. New, uncovered, slatted deck to be constructed using pressure treated lumber. Flooring to be installed with spacing to create a porous/pervious surface. All construction will be by hand labor. No heavy equipment will be used at all. This request is to extend our existing deck by 10 feet & relocate deck's 10 feet as well. New, uncovered, slatted wooden deck would measure approximately 20 feet x 10 feet. Newly relocated, new! constructed wooden steps would be moved out by no more than 10 feet & remain 4 feet wide. (( Plans call for our next door neighbors, the Merchel's to request authorization to extend their existing deck by approximately 10ft. as well. Ideally the construction of both decks & steps would be completed as one project built by one contractor. )) D. Impact Justification and Mitigation 1. Avoidance and Minimization la. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing the project. Any impact to Zone 2 will ONLY be to a grassed lawn area. No trees to be impacted. New uncovered, wooden slatted deck construction will have porous/pervious flooring which will not limit the positive benefits of natural rainfall. All construction will be by hand. No heavy equipment will be used. 1 b. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques. Only construction impact will be to manually dig holes for vertical support framing (maximum of 4 to 6 holes - contractor to determine what will be needed) for the deck's wooden support framing. The goal of this project is to simply add on an additional 10 feet of usable, outdoor, uncovered deck space. Intent is to not disturb any existing, environmentally friendly flows of rainfall into the lake. Other than covering an existing grassy area with a porous/pervious deck floor, no other natural vegetation will be impacted at all A fully licensed general contractor will construct the entire project. Any and all Lincoln County permits and/or specifications will be fully adhered to.
