We instructed the company on Tuesday, August 8, to remove sediment and gravel deposits from the stream channel. On Wednesday, August 9, the company reported that 68 five -gallon buckets of sediment were removed from the stream channel. Because of the rain the area received the morning of August 10, we will reinspect the site to make sure the site did not have another sediment loss and to confirm the cleanup efforts are adequate. Project # Y-5500JC Action ID# SAW-2019-01336 NCDWR # 20201838 Permit Site # 3 A sediment loss was discovered in the wetland adjacent to the inlet of the new culvert. We instructed the company on Wednesday, August 9, to remove the sediment from the wetland. The wetland area impacted is approximately 60 square feet. A bucket count will be provided as soon as the contractor completes the cleanup efforts. Sediment deposits were discovered in the stream channel downstream of the new culvert. It appears mud in the culvert was flushed out during the last rain event. We instructed the company on Wednesday, August 9, to remove the sediment from the channel at two locations. A bucket count will be provided as soon as the contractor completes the cleanup efforts.
