Request for Permit Renewal: The Buncombe County School system requests renewal for the above NPDES permit based on the educational needs of the North Buncombe Elementary School waste water treatment plant. Waste water treatment is essential based on the rural location of this facility. Monthly monitoring logs provided to the NPDES Unit substantiate the normal operation of this plant. Operation Authority: RPB Systems, a licensed W WTP construction and operations firm in Asheville is under contract to perform operations on this facility by order of the BOE. Sludge Management: Sludge management of this facility is based on daily flow and treatment conditions. The ORC is in charge of determining when solids/sludge is to be removed via a pump and haul method with a licensed pump operations company. Documentation is provided in the standard operators log and monthly monitoring logs. Please advise if you have further questions or concerns.
