Andrea, • There is river birch in the stream corridors at all the project sites. • Gravelly Creek will be constructed in the dry. Flows will be diverted into a ditch at the top of the project reach. This ditch flows into Cane Creek just upstream of the mouth of Gravelly Creek. • We use a pump/pipe around to conduct the work in the dry on Reed Branch and the 2 UTs of Ashworth Creek for the Ashworth Creek Restoration project. • I will need to meet you at the site to check hellbender habitat on Cane Creek. We can meet at the Gravelly Creek site & walk down to Cane Creek. There is a good place to park at the end of Willie Mae Way (35.47594,-82.44276). I can meet you there on August 16, 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, or 31. Let me know which date will work & what time you want meet. I have a few questions about the Nesbit & Hamilton Lynch projects. 1. Both projects: You've specified river birch for the planting plans. Is river birch present on site currently? 2. Hamilton Lynch: Reed Br and the UTs have drainage areas below 1 sgmi. Can you pump around your work on these streams? 3. Nesbit et al: Gravelly Creek looks to have an about 1.6 sgmi drainage area. Can you pump around your work on this stream? 4. Nesbit et al: Cane Creek does have some records for hellbender up and downstream of the project area. Can I visit the site to see what kind of habitat is on site? I'd like to just swing by at some point while I'm in the neighborhood and don't need to meet you out there unless the landowners wish that.
