The Groundwater Section has reviewed the site plan
modifications and the hydrologic model results submitted
with the December 16, 1988 letter from Bissell Associates.
The interception ditch as proposed should control water
table mounding and significantly reduce potential for
groundwater quality standard exceedances at the perimeter of
compliance.
However, a 200 ft. separation is not provided between
the line sinks and rotary distributors as required by 15
NCAC 2H .0200. Kinnakeet Shores and their engineers should
be notified of this requirement.
It was my understanding, based on our September 15,
1988 meeting, that the permittees would consider relocation
of several of the proposed rotary distributors to the south
of the current site to reduce wastewater loading in the area
of concern.
