HomeMy WebLinkAboutFW_ Silt Loss at Sta 128+00 +_- RT-L- Highway Division 8 is reporting a sediment loss on project R-3421B (Sta 128+00+). I was notified of the loss yesterday. The details of the loss and the circumstances involved are included in the email below submitted to me by the project inspector Lonnie Owens. Because the loss was believed to have happened sometime during the weekend and the extended holiday, the exact date of the loss is uncertain. However, there was at least ½ inch of rain in the local rain gauge on the day the loss was discovered (the amount may have been reduced by evaporation). I will make a site visit and follow up on the cleanup by the contractor. Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information. Art C. The HWC has been undermined and material went underneath into the area described. This may have been prevented if contractor had graded the ditch properly and added all erosion devices as per plans. No Diversion ditches were in place at the time of rainfall event. Sent from my iPad ________________________________ Email correspondence to and from this sender is subject to the N.C.
