Major Permit Application for review and authorization
Dear Ms. MacPherson,
On behalf of the USS Battleship North Carolina, please find enclosed an updated CAMA Major Permit
application and supplemental materials for the Living with Water project based on comments received via
email on July 15, 2022, and phone conversation on July 22, 2022. The permit package includes information in
support of the nature -based project as discussed during the agency scoping meeting held January 6, 2022,
during the DCM site visit on June 9, 2022, and as described below.
This CAMA Major permit application includes: 1) the proposed restoration of 720 linear feet of hardened
shoreline with an intertidal estuarine living shoreline, 2) the removal of two acres of existing impervious
parking lot and conversion to a constructed tidal creek and intertidal wetland, 3) the improvement of existing
parking lot and construction of a stormwater wetland swale, 4) the construction of an overflow parking lot
with pervious pavement, and 5) construction of a 330 linear foot wooden boardwalk.
Please note, the application fee of $475 is provided under a separate submission from Moffatt & Nichol.
