a. Amount of material to be excavated from below NHW or NWL in b. Type of material to be excavated.
cubic yards. rip rap, exisiting parking lot pavement, asphalt, fill and
180 cy along the southern shoreline within the basin gravel
C. (i) Does the area to be excavated include coastal wetlands/marsh
(CW), submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV), shell bottom (SB),
or other wetlands (WL)? If any boxes are checked, provide the
number of square feet affected.
®CW 35,720 ❑SAV ❑SB
❑WL ❑None
(ii) Describe the purpose of the excavation in these areas:
Conversion of southern basin shoreline to natural conditions
(remove existing rip rap); excavation of the existing parking lot
which will be replaced with a constructed tidal creek and
wetlands to restore site to natural conditions and reduce flood
risk to Battleship visitors and infrastructure.
d. High -ground excavation in cubic yards.
7,400 cy
2. DISPOSAL OF EXCAVATED MATERIAL El This section not applicable

(ii) Describe the purpose of disposal in these areas:
Excavated material will be dewatered in the onsite staging area
prior to trucking to disposal area.
3. SHORELINE STABILIZATION El This section not applicable
(If development is a wood groin, use MP-4 — Structures)
a. Type of shoreline stabilization:
❑Bulkhead ❑Riprap ❑Breakwater/Sill ®Other:
grading for creation of natural shoreline
C. Average distance waterward of NHW or NWL: Grading for natural
shoreline work extends roughly 6 feet waterward of the NHW line
on average.
e. Type of stabilization material:
native wetland plants including coastal species, such as Spartina
species
g. Number of square feet of fill to be placed below water level.
Bulkhead backfill 0 Riprap 0
Breakwater/Sill 0 Other removal of exisiting riprap and grading
of shoreline
Source of fill material.
N/A; no structural material will be placed
b. Length: 720 linear ft
Width: 15-30 ft
Maximum distance waterward of NHW or NWL: areas of
natural shoreline extend up to 37 feet below NHW.
f. (i) Has there been shoreline erosion during preceding 12
months?
®Yes ❑No ❑NA
(ii) If yes, state amount of erosion and source of erosion amount
information.

4. OTHER FILL ACTIVITIES ❑This section not applicable
(Excluding Shoreline Stabilization)
a. (i) Will fill material be brought to the site? ®Yes ❑No DNA b. (i) Will fill material be placed in coastal wetlands/marsh (CW),
If yes,
(ii) Amount of material to be placed in the water 0
(iii) Dimensions of fill area 400 ft x 30 ft (vegetated upland
berm area)
(iv) Purpose of fill
separate constructed wetland from NCDOT roadside ditch
as a vegetated berm
5. GENERAL
a. How will excavated or fill material be kept on site and erosion
controlled?
During construction, floating turbidity barriers and silt curtains will
be placed onshore and offshore along the southern shoreline of
the Battleship's berth to minimize sediment plumes and turbidity
Excavated material will be dewatered in the upland staging area.
submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV), shell bottom (SB), or
other wetlands (WL)? If any boxes are checked, provide the
number of square feet affected.
®CW 11,326 ❑SAV ❑SB
❑WL ❑None
(ii) Describe the purpose of the fill in these areas:
fill material will be permanently placed in 0.26 ac or 11,326 sq
ft to construct the overflow parking lot
entrance/driveway,vegetated berm and construction of new
main parking lot entrance. The vegetated berm will be
constructed to separate tidal flows and improve conveyance of
flows to the Cape Fear River.
b. What type of construction equipment will be used (e.g., dragline,
backhoe, or hydraulic dredge)?
Equipment will include larger track hoes (2), bull dozers (2), larger
loaders (2), skid steers (1), dump trucks (1 or 2 at a time),
compaction equipment (1), possibly a crane (1), dewatering
equipment (1), paving equipment (1) .
