Good morning all, We appreciate your review and comments of the Hammocks Beach State Park Mainland CAMA Permit application. We would like to provide additional information to assist with your review. See below for more on that information and our anticipated timeline for submittal. 1. Per discussions with DEQ and received comments, we are revising the project alignment to include 10' gaps in the main sill and revising the project narrative to reflect this change, resolve previously identified discrepancies between the narrative and other documents, provide additional information on erosion, and clarify the location of the sills. We will have new maps, shapefiles, and a revised narrative to all no later than Friday, 11 August 2023. In the revised narrative, we are clarifying that the landward edge of the main sill will be 5 feet from the edge of coastal wetlands and at no point will the waterward edge of the structure (the offset baffles) be more than 25 feet from the edge of coastal wetlands. This will be more clearly described in the revised narrative. 3. Information regarding our findings of no anticipated impacts to currently listed T&E species will be provided no later than August 11. 4. Seine surveys were conducted along the entire alignment the week of July 24. Information from these surveys will be provided no later than August 11. In the revised narrative, we are clarifying that to protect juvenile shrimp and finfish, no in -water work will occur from April 1 through July 31 of any year. The revised shapefiles our SAV survey locations, and published "SAV Onslow 2021 Final" SAV mapping available from NCDEQ at https://data- ncdenr.oDendata.arceis.com/datasets/34f32f64bl29428185949722038fbl68. These are the same SAV areas shown at https://www.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.htmI?id=de86f3bb9e634005b12f69a8a5947367& extent=-8547966.9341%2C4122310.0151%2C-8519303.0485%2C4139317.2539%2C102100. 6. Can you please direct us to any available written guidance on the frequency of SAV survey transects as we consider how best to respond to SAV impact concerns and supplement the information provided to date? We have less than 30 days to conduct any surveys on this project and upcoming permit applications we would like to submit over the fall and winter, so we would appreciate guidance as soon as possible.
