Enclosed with this letter is a copy of the DraftNPDES Major Modification for your facility. Please
review this draft modification carefully to ensure thorough understanding of the requirements and
conditions it contains.
The Draft Permit Modification contains the following significant changes from your
current permit:
• A new internal outfall 002 was added to the permit to accommodate discharge from the
PFAS treatment system.
• The treatment component list in the Supplement to Permit Cover Sheet has been updated.
The NPDES standard conditions (Parts II and III) that are a part of the permit are not included in
this draft document (cover, map, and Part I). The conditions are the same as in your current permit
except that agency and division names have been updated. The latest version is available at
hnps://bit.ly/2BZ4xxx and can be viewed online or downloaded as a PDF file.
Please provide any comments you have regarding the draft permit modification to this
office by July 17, 2023. At this time, the Division is also publishing a notice in the newspapers
of general circulation in Onslow County, inviting public comment on the draft permit.
Following the 30-day comment period, we will review all pertinent comments received and take
appropriate action on the permit modification.
