Subject: RE: Hampstead Bypass Oil Spill
Jon,
Earlier this week, I reported that the Department of Transportation discovered an oil spill on the
Hampstead Bypass project (DWR # 20161268) after a major rain event.
An estimated 15-20 gallons of fuel was spilled. The tank was located away from surface water but
due to major flooding, oil entered the stream. The contractor immediately installed containment
booms at the spill location to prevent further movement and the residual fuel material was removed
from the site.
If you would please provide Lauren with a summary of the clean-up efforts, site pictures, an update
on the current status of the site and how/where the oil absorbent pads/booms are being disposed
of, as well as any follow-up information she may need/request.
Thank you,
Hannah

Hannah,
My supervisor sent me an email about a small oil spill from DOT. Do you have any contact info for
who you spoke to with them so I can follow up? Thank you!
