This is a response letter to NOV-2023-DV-0293
On 6-23-23 at 740 am the Ogles creek pumps station overflowed due to heavy rain in a very short
period.
Maintenance crew & ORC were on site at 750 am and action was taken by propping the check
valves open to allow total flow through the station.
The rain subsided at the overflow stopped at 9 am
We know this is a violation of the permit but please consider that the station is not designed for that high
flow incident caused by such a quick rain surge.
We have been granted an AIA grant to inventory our system and target these problem areas.
LKC engineering is now in that process.
We continually monitor the mobile home park that is in front of this station and have replaced
several cleanouts damaged by mowers and other people.
We jetted and cleaned these lines to use the full pipe for storage.
We have had the station cleaned by Pit busters.
We have replaced the Check Valves to have more flow.
Also, we have this station on The Randolph count priority list for funds to Upgrade.
Our Engineers LKC have plans in place to upgrade when funds are available.
Please consider that we could use the funds for repair instead of paying fines.
