FACILITY SUMMARY
Meadow Ridge Subdivision WTP is a greensand water treatment plant with a design capacity of 0.072
MGD using groundwater wells. The treatment process for the raw water consists of chlorination, four
greensand filters and the addition of caustic for pH control. Backwash water from the filters is dechlorinated
and then intermittently discharged into a UT which flows into a local pond that then feeds into Kings Creek.
The existing treatment components at the water treatment plant are the following:
• Four (4) greensand filters
• Chlorination
• Dechlorination
Chemical usage consists of:
• Caustic soda (pH control)
• Calcium thiosulfate (dechlorination)
RENEWAL SUMMARY
The facility has requested to transfer coverage to the NCG590000 General Permit. Based on the general
permit’s requirements, they are eligible for coverage and will be switching over. The new permit number is
NCG590042. The individual permit will be rescinded.
NCG59 GENERAL PERMIT ELIGIBILITY (FOR CONVENTIONAL & GREENSAND WTPS):
• This facility does not perform toxicity testing – eligible
• No metal limits in the existing permit – eligible
• Conclusion: Eligible for NCG59 General Permit.

COMPLIANCE HISTORY
Meadow Ridge Subdivision WTP has no enforcements on record since the permit was originally issued in
2010. The most recent inspection (May 2018) showed the facility to be in compliance and very well
maintained. Only one NOD was issued during the last permit cycle.
REASONABLE POTENTIAL ANALYSIS
A reasonable potential analysis (RPA) was not performed as this facility does not monitor for any of the
specific pollutants.
