Good Afternoon,
Reviewing the area today, the residual fuel was entering the stream from one area. The contractor
has installed containment booms at the locations in the Spill Response Picture. It is estimated that
approximately 15-20 gallons of fuel was spilled from the tank. The location where the residual fuel
was blocked off from the stream and material with fuel was excavated and removed from the site.
Please let me know if you need and additional information.
Cheers,
Ben

Good Morning,
There were spill kits in the immediate area. However, they were inundated as well, so spill kits and
containment booms were brought into the area. We are still waiting on confirmation of quantity of
fuel lost. I will get some pictures of the area this morning to provide later today with any additional
updates.
Cheers,
Ben

Good morning Jon,
As Tom mentioned please keep us updated on the spill and the clean-up efforts. And once
quantified please update us on the amount of petroleum lost and photos of the site.
Was the spill kit available for immediate use on this loss?
Thank you,
Hannah

Subject: C204553 (R-3300B) Hampstead Rain Event 7/20/2023 Fuel Spill & Sediment Losses
Jon,
We had a 4.74" rain event that occurred within a couple hours last night that affected the project.
We have been reviewing the project and have preliminarily identified the following items:
• Fuel spill was identified from a fuel tank in the Y38 (Holiday Dr) area that was associated with
the laydown for the culvert contactor. This was the worst flooding we have seen on the
project to date for this area. We have not received a quantity of fuel that was lost.
• Sta. 25+00 Lt. -SR6- _ 8CY of material was lost past the silt fence into the wetland
• Sta. 10+50 Lt. -SR6- Hidden Bluff Pond _ 2CY of material was lost into the pond.
• Sta. 16+50 Lt.-Y30DET- _ 1 CY of material past the silt fence.
Other areas of the project are still inundated with water that we cannot assess if there were any
losses at this time. We will continue to monitor and provide updates as the water levels recede.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Cheers,
Ben
