Katharine & Sue,
Please see attached updated mitigation statements for Capeton. A couple of changes:
- Wildlands no longer has wetland credits at the Daniels Creek bank, therefore we will use it for the initial stream
mitigation (although that is reduced as well)
- RS was going to refresh the non -riparian credit letter for Barra Farms bank, but realized that our site is just
outside a weird "notch" in their service area (it looks like it runs along the Town limits at US421 on the north
boundary of the site
- Due to the above, and the proposed phasing of mitigation, we asked DMS to provide acceptance for the entire
impact amounts and will refresh our bank search and revisit for the future phases
I have recreated the mitigation table from the cover letter and added columns for mitigation source below to hopefully
clarify where things stand today. With the recent decreases in Daniels Creek availability, it would be good to have DMS
as backup even for the initial phase (2) of stream mitigation, although Wildlands is expecting a release of credits early
2024.
