Installation of SeHAWK Bioreactor — Outfall 001
Dear Dr. Chemikov:
Per Condition A (2) 8(c) Duke Energy Progress, LLC. (Duke Energy) is submitting this letter as notification
of tb.e installation of a bioreactor. The bioreactor is to provide treatment for removal of Selenium. The
installation of the system is projected to be completed by mid -August and operational by end of August
2023.
Duke Energy will adhere to the effluent conditions and monitoring: requirements in permit Condition A (8) -
Outfall 001 (Ash Pond Dewatering) and requests that submittal'of this letter meet the requirement for
notification of installation of a treatment system and update to the permit application file. If there are any

I certify, under penalty of law, that this document and all attachments were prepared under my
direction or supervision in accordance with a system designed to assure that qualified personnel
