We performed the required total ammonia nitrogen monitoring frequency for the week of October 30, 2022 through November 5, 2022 (See Attachment 2). However, during the submittal of the October 2022 NDMR, there was an oversight and we failed to report the October 31, 2022, Total Ammonia Nitrogen value. Confirmed by your guidance received during a phone call on July 10, 2023, we had revised and resubmitted our October 2022 NDMR on July 6, 2023 (See Attachment 3) with total ammonia nitrogen value of <0.10 mg/L on October 31, 2023. We have attached the corresponding OWASA WWTP Laboratory Ammonia -Nitrogen Bench Sheet as additional documentation (see Attachment 2). To prevent this from happening again, we have changed our review method by including an end of the month review meeting with all parties who input data to reduce the risk of any clerical errors. Thank you for your guidance and support working through this process. We respectfully request NOV-2023-MV-0116 be rescinded in consideration of the information we have provided including (1) monitoring was completed at the required frequency, we had a clerical error omitting one sample result; (2) we submitted the revised NDMR, which includes the missing sample result as soon as we were notified of the issue and received guidance on how to correct it; and (3) we have taken corrective action to prevent reoccurrence on future NDMRs. 400 Jones Ferry Road, Carrboro, NC 27510 0 919-968-4421 C) info@owasa.org © @OWASA_NC Q www.owasa.org Response to Notice of Violation (NOV-2023-MV-0116) Non -discharge Permit No. WQ0031506 July 13, 2023 Page 2 If you have any questions or need any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me or Wilmer Lawson, Wastewater Treatment and Biosolids Recycling Manager, at wlawson@owasa.ora or (919) 537-4351.
