Permit No. NC0005363, enclosed. is the Effluent Toxicity Report Form' (AT-1) for Duke ,LL
Energy Progress, C„
Weatherspoon Steam Elect&Plant's Outfall 001 Cooling Pond.
In accordance with PartI, Condition A. (6).of our National Pollutant. Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)
Permit No. NC0005363 .after monitoring of the first five toxicityaests:for. Duke Energy Progress.LLC.,
Weatherspoon Steam:Etectric Planrs Outfall 001 - Cooling Pond, Dukewill conduct one test annually, with,the
annual period beginning in January -of the next calendar year. The annual test. requirement must be performed
and reported by June 30. If no discharge occurs by;June 36 notification will be made to the Division within 2
weeks after June 30..'
Weatherspoon`s NPDES permit became effective 111112018 and has had episodic discharges on: .
1.:March 14, 2019 due to' maintenance activities associated with constructing. Outfall 003; data was
previously submitted:.
2_ June 19, 2020'due to maintenance activities associated with tree and vegetation maintenance; data
was previously_subMitted.
1 November 12, 2020 due.to significant rainfall froma Cold Front and Tropical System=Eta causing.
Jacobs Creek overtopping the cooling pond dam and inundating the cooling pond; data was
previously submitted:
4. February 3, 2021 due to a maintenance activity associated with exercising e4u'ipnient per O&M
recornniendation; data was previously submitted:
There. has. been no additional toxicity test to date due Who discharge from this facility. Toxicity testing will be
performed on the next discharge event for the annual testrequirernent..
