Installation of SeHAWK Bioreactor—Outfall 001
Dear Dr. Chernikov:
Per Condition A (2) 8(c) Duke Energy Progress, LLC. (Duke Energy) is submitting this letter as notification
of the installation of a bioreactor. The bioreactor is to provide treatment for removal of Selenium. The
installation of the system is projected to be completed by mid-August and operational by end of August
2023.
Duke Energy will adhere to the effluent conditions and monitoring requirements in permit Condition A (8) -
Outfall 001 (Ash Pond Dewatering) and requests that submittal of this letter meet the requirement for
notification of installation of a treatment system and update to the permit application file. If there are any
