I wanted to reach out on this residential subdivision with the referenced SAW#. Application was made back in early January after April Norton and I had a preapplication meeting on
the project site in late December 2022. April agreed with the WOTUS boundaries as surveyed and shown on the construction drawings provided with the application. The site contains what
were historically headwater wetlands on the high points of the landscape (no flow through stream) that were excavated in an attempt to make open water ponds. These areas were delineated
as surface water ponds on the USGS topo maps, although they function as wetlands with rooted vegetation in the lowest part of the landscape and contain upland vegetation throughout
and hydrophytic and transitional veg in the lowest areas only. The plans provided show the wetlands as they occur in the field in the USGS pond locations. These features are shown on
the plans as agreed in the field meeting with April.

I understand that the Corps did not have any questions about the PCN application or the WOTUS features; however, NCDEQ is requesting something from the Corps indicating that the USGS
pond areas are indeed wetlands as indicated on our construction plans. If you could please get back to me on this item it would be very helpful, as my client is anxious to continue
moving forward with the project.

April and Jean,

I wanted to reach out on this PCN to coordinate as needed.

This project is a new subdivision with a sewer line in eastern Durham County, Neuse drainage. April and I met in the field on Dec 22 to go over the project as a pre-application meeting.
April had some helpful comments regarding SCM labeling and was good with the WOTUS boundaries. I am meeting with the DEQ today to establish 401 riparian buffers. Please let me know
if you have any questions as we go forward.
