Mitchell Farms Subdivision Storm Water Narrative f
The site is currently undeveloped, the site is to be utilized for the development of a
single-family residential subdivision. In its current condition the site drains generally
from the north to the south into the Little River which flows west to east.
Storm water will be collected within the lots via grassed swales which will convey the
runoff into the proposed roadways where it will then be collected into the underground
storm system via curb inlets. This runoff will be conveyed to the proposed wet pond in
the southern portion of the site. The proposed wet pond will discharge into a plunge
pool upslope of the river at a rate less than the existing runoff rate for the 1-yr storm.
The wet pond has been designed in accordance with the latest NCDEQ MDC Stormwater
Design Manual.
