Lee Energy Complex NPDES Permit NC0003417 NPDES Permit Update ā€” Transfer of Water Between Basins Dear Dr. Chernikov: Duke Energy Progress, LLC. (Duke Energy) is submitting this letter to update the current permit application on file to include transfer of water from the Inactive Basin 1 to Outfall 005b. Historically, Duke Energy has been allowed to move water from basin to basin to help in the facilitation of the dewatering process. The proposed route for dewatering of Inactive Basin 1 will use this basin -to -basin approach. The water in Inactive Basin 1 will be transferred to Inactive Basin 3 and discharged to the Neuse River via Outfall 005b. Duke Energy will adhere to the effluent conditions and monitoring requirements in permit Condition A (7) - Outfall 005b (Inactive Ash Pond Dewatering) and requests that submittal of this letter meet the requirement for application file update and a permit modification not be required. If there are any questions regarding this letter, please contact Joyce Dishmon via phone at (336) 623-0238 or via email at joyce.dishmon@duke-energy.com.
