The Division received your request to rescind the subject permit. We do not object to this request.
Per the approval of this action by the Winston-Salem Regional Office, NPDES permit NCO089389 is hereby rescinded,
effective immediately. This message is to close the permit file for the Division, and for your records.
If in the future you wish to discharge wastewater to the State's surface waters, you must first apply for and receive a
new NPDES permit.
If you have any questions concerning this matter, simply reply to this message.
PLEASE NOTE: as part of the Division's conversion to paperless communication, this email is the only notification you will
be sent regarding the CoC rescission. No hard copy will be mailed.

Hi Charles,
Just got another response for a permit to be decommissioned rather than renewed, passing it along to you.
Best, Andrew

Andrew, We will have no need to apply for renewal of our previous discharge permit. The original purpose for
the permit was to allow Kruger to run their pilot study to satisfy the State's settled water
turbidity requirements that they had set before allowing us to put the Actiflo Treatment process online. The 2-
week study required by the State satisfied their requirements. As we transitioned from our old conventional
plant to our new Actiflo Treatment Plant the discharge line was taken offline and has been inoperable since.
On August 12th 2019 Ron Boone from DWR visited our plant to do a compliance evaluation inspection. He was
shown and walked through the discharge procedure that was used in the pilot study. Our previous Utilities
Director made the decision to renew the permit as noted in the email sent to Tom Moore on 10/9/19 despite
the fact that it is no longer needed. All of our waste is received by the Sewer Authority in Elkin. If you need
more information on the situation, please feel free to let me know and I will provide you with what you need.
Please let me know that this email provides you with what NCDEQ needs to close our request of any discharge
needs. Thank you
