This review reflected compliance with the subject permit. The following items of concern were noted: • Fields CS-07-01, CS-14-02 and 03 reported a soil pH < 6.0 and had lime recommendations. No lime applications were reported on the Annual Land Application Field Summary Form. The pH values should continue to be monitored as low pH values can negatively impact crop health. Please refer to the enclosed inspection report for additional comments and observations. If you have any questions, please contact me or Caitlin Caudle at the letterhead address and phone number, or by email at jenny.graznak deq.nc.gov or Caitlin.caudle(a)_deg.nc.gov Sincerely, Docu Signed by, OD2D3CE3F1 B7456... Other observations: • Only one application event happens every year. PVR, metals and nutrients, and TCLP are completed before the application event occurs, normally in the month before land application starts. • PR was completed on 4/12/22, 4/26/22, 5/3/22, 5/17/22. VR was completed on 5/5/22, 5/10/22, 5/17/22, 5/19/22. All sample events met PVR requirements. • 4xyr sampling was completed on 4/12/22, 4/26/22, 5/3/22, 5/17/22. TCLP was completed on 4/14/22. • Field CS-07-01 reported a Cu index of 1353. This field should continue to be monitored. • Fields CS-7-1, CS-1 0-1 and 5, and CS-1 4-3 all have a dominant soil series of Clifford in Attachment B, with no map unit provided. The soil maps have been updated and old map units cannot be reviewed. The Clifford map units used were CgB2 and CfB in Rockingham County and CmB in Person County. All RYE rates were 209 or 216 Ibs PAN/ac. All fields were < 20lbs/ac of the RYE limit but CS-14-3, which reported 209 Ibs PAN/ac applied. Based on available information, there is no concern for over application.
