Everything looks good except for a few small issues: Please correct the following: - General: o The provided swale velocity & flow depth information shown in the Supplement-EZ Form should reflect the permanent design conditions, not on the temporary matting. For example, the provided calculations show the unreinforced vegetated swale #2 as having a 10-year design flow of 3.65 fps, however the Supplement-EZ Swale Table shows the actual velocity of this swale as 5.69 fps (based on the calculations for the temporary C125 matting). Please revise the Vallowable, Vactual, F Depth, Liner, & SF columns in the table to reflect the permanent design conditions. - Vegetated Conveyance Design: o Please provide a source for the allowable velocities of the vegetated conveyances if using values other than those found in Part C-11 of the Manual. o The slope of Swale #1 is shown to be 3.0% in the Swale Table of the Supplement-EZ Form and 0.7% in the calculations. Please revise as needed. - Supplement-EZ Form: o Low-Density Page:  Revise as needed in accordance with the earlier comments. Please provide the following: - 1x hard copy & 1x electronic copy of the revised swale velocity calculations (as needed). - 1x hard copy & 1x electronic copy of the revised pages of the Supplement-EZ Form. - 2x hard copies & 1x electronic copy of the revised plan sheets (as needed). - 1x hard copy (2x hard copies for plan sheets) & 1x electronic copy of anything else needed to address the above comments. Hard copies should be mailed to me at the following address: For FedEx/UPS: Jim Farkas 512 N. Salisbury Street, Office 640M Raleigh, NC 27604 For USPS: Jim Farkas 1612 Mail Service Center Raleigh, NC 27699-1612 Hand Delivery: 1 Please reach out to me prior to hand delivering a submission to make sure that I (or someone else in my group) will be able to receive the submission. Do not leave the package in the foyer with the security guard. NOTE: Hard copies should not be sent to a Regional Office. Doing so will delay the review process and the submission package may be lost while being sent from the Regional Office to me in the Central Office. Electronic copies should be uploaded at the following location: https://edocs.deq.nc.gov/Forms/SW-Supplemental-Upload Since these are really minor things, once I get the hard copies, anything else that may have changed from addressing these issues, and the documents are uploaded to Laserfiche (Provided everything is still in order), we can issue the permit without doing another formal review. Let me know if you have any questions. Everything looks good except for a few small issues: Please correct the following: - General: o The swale velocity calculations were not provided. The swale velocities were provided in the swale design table of the Supplement-EZ Form (as a separate sheet), but the calculations showing how the velocities were determined (specifically which Manning’s “n” values were used) was not provided. Please provide these calculations so that the velocity values can be verified. Please note that the “n” value should be based on the permanent design conditions, not on the temporary matting. o Electronic files for all of the calculations were not provided. - Vegetated Conveyance Design: 2 o Some of the ditches (1, 2, 3, 13, 19, 27, & 37) have an actual velocity that is larger than the Vallowable value shown for these ditches (for example, Ditch #1 has a Vallowable of 5.0 fps and a Vactual of 8.06 fps). Please revise as needed. o Please ensure that the ditches that are discharging to wetland areas do so at a non-erosive velocity (2.0 fps for wetlands). o The ditch detail on plan sheet C-6.0 indicates to “see plans” for the bottom width of the ditches. I didn’t see the ditch bottom widths shown in the plans. Please ensure that this information is specified in the plans. - Application: o Section IV, 8 & 10 – The %BUA value appears to be incorrect (885,648 sf of New BUA / 5,044,684 sf of Project Area = 17.6% BUA not 17.8% BUA). Please revise as needed. - Supplement-EZ Form: o Drainage Area Page:  Lines 5 & 6 – Please use the project area (115.81 ac/5,044,684 sf) instead of the property area and please show this value in square feet, instead of acres. o Low-Density Page:  Line 5 – Per the provided swale design table, the maximum velocity in the ditches during the 10- year design storm is 8.06 fps (Ditch #1). Please revise as needed. Please provide the following: - 1x hard copy & 1x electronic copy of the swale velocity calculations. - 1x electronic copy of all of the other calculations. - 1x hard copy & 1x electronic copy of the revised pages of the Application. Reviews under the standard permitting process generally take 45 calendar days, but can take up to 90 calendar days per statute (our other reviewer, Corey Anen, no longer works for the State, so this review may exceed 45 days). Please upload all documents that you mailed into our office through the link provided below. Be sure to choose the Central Office as the Primary Contact office. https://edocs.deq.nc.gov/Forms/SW-Supplemental-Upload IMPORTANT NOTE: Please ensure that each file is uploaded under its appropriate file type. Additional file types can be entered into the electronic form by clicking on the “Add Another Post-Construction File Upload” link directly below the “State Stormwater Information Uploads” section of the form. Please do not upload entire plan sets through this form, but rather upload the relevant individual sheets under the appropriate file type. Selecting the correct file type ensures that the files are properly named in the electronic repository and it helps expedite the review process.
