On May 26, 2023, MRO staff performed a Compliance Evaluation Inspection for the Irwin Creek
Tributary GW Remediation system under permit #NC0090077. This is the first compliance inspection
for this facility.
MRO was only able to review laboratory analytical data for May 2023. The analytical effluent data
indicates the system is operating with permit specification.
The Effluent data indicates low level metals are present and hardness also indicates low level
presence. VOC and SVOC compounds are repporting below dection limits.
The majority of the dewatering fluid for this project has been disposed of via an Industrial Pump and
Haul process.
The facility has passed Acute Toxicity testing.

Comment: The permit was on site and able to be view during the site visit.
- Special Condiditon A.(2) for Acute Wet Toxicity to include: The effluent concentration
at which there may be at no time significant mortality is 90% (defined in treatment two
the procedure document).

Comment: During the site visit, O&M records were reviewed from January 2023 through May
2023. The records are in order and appear to be complete. MRO staff also collected
waste manifiests for the spent treatment media.
The Activated Carbon is changed on a monthly basis. Bag filters are also changed
monthly.
