Home My WebLink AboutPre-Prospectus_MiniCrane_Mar2023WILDLANDS ENGINEERING Mini Crane Mitigation Site Lee and Moore Counties, NC Wildlands Engineering, Inc. proposes the creation of the Mini Crane Stream and Wetland Mitigation Bank ("Bank") in the Cape Fear River Basin, Cataloging Unit 03030004 in Lee and Moore Counties, North Carolina. This will be done under a modification to the Mid Cape Fear Umbrella Mitigation Bank. The bank will provide 7,216 stream credits and 9.013 wetland credits. The site is described below. SITE The Mini Crane site encompasses 43 acres and is proposed to include 6,690 linear feet (LF) of stream restoration, 265 LF of stream enhancement, and 2,698 LF of stream preservation. The site will also include 10.6 acres of wetland preservation, 3.34 acres of wetland rehabilitation, and 10.83 acres of wetland re- establishment. The implementation of the mitigation concept will result in significant ecological improvements within the Little River watershed. Among these are improvements to aquatic and riparian habitat, reduction of sediment loads, connection of the onsite streams to their floodplains, improvements to wetlands, and restoration of native riparian buffers. The attached figures illustrate the location of the bank site as well as the mitigation activities proposed.
