Hey Barrett,
By copy of this correspondence, DWR approves the monitoring report for Year 1 of the Dead Tree
Phase B Site. Please note the following comments:
1. Height and vigor data were not included in the Year 1 report which is required. Please make
sure this data is included in subsequent monitoring reports. Due to the size of this site
though, DWR is okay with only 25% (about 26 plots) having individual stem height and
average vigor-per-plot data attached to future monitoring reports. You may choose which
plots to include in this 25% as long as they are representative of the entire site. We will
continue to observe and adjust reporting and monitoring approaches for height and vigor
as required moving forward.

2. Data from plots 41, 44, 59, 85, and 100 all show significant diversity issues with only 1 or 2
surviving stem species present in each plot. DWR is not too concerned with this issue because
it represents a relatively small area of the site considering its overall size and because these
plots are spread out throughout the site and not concentrated in one area. We agree
andappreciate the comments regarding low density/diversity sections.
DWR authorizes a 20% reduction in the current bond amount. Thanks we will get started on the
bond adjustments
