Attached is the revised PCN (Word Version) with updated Stream Impact table. The impact that you identified in the attached photo has been included as Stream Impact S7. The installed length was 89 ft. As discussed, this line segment was installed in the same trench as the old line. I have also attached a link below to MSD's construction detail for installations parallel to a streambank. http: / /www.msdbc.org /documents /drawings /1.18 -01 StreambankProt -1.pdf Let me know if you need anything else at this time. Congrats on your new position at NCDENR! Ken Stines informed me recently that you will be handling wastewater treatment for the Water Quality group. Is this accurate description? Should future PCN submittals be forwarded to another individual? Thanks, W. Hunter Carson, P.E. Please submit the following to me (electronic copy is fine): 1. Updated PCN impact table to include the length of stream impacted by the rip rap bank stabilization. 2. Typical detail that was used to install riprap on the streambank in this area. Thank you for your quick response. Feel free to submit this when you return from paternity leave if necessary. Za n, The area in the photo was actually not submitted as a stream impact because there was no crossing that took place. However, it is apparent that the creek bank has been permanently impacted due to rip -rap installation. Rip -rap was not shown on the construction drawings, nor intended (as shown in the attachment); however, our inspector felt it was necessary in order to stabilize the bank following installation of the new sewer line. This section of pipe was replaced in the existing trench, which is located immediately adjacent to the creek. FYI, the rip -rap on the left side of the photo gives the appearance that a stream crossing was made; however, this was existing material as confirmed by our preconstruction video. We did have to tie the existing 8" DIP line (from Riverside Business Park) back into MH #4, but this was all completed on the south side of the creek (i.e. 2' outside of the MH). Please let me know if you need additional information, and how you wish to proceed. Thanks, W. Hunter Carson, P.E. Hey Zan- So the good news is that we've dropped from 5 copies to 4 (see memo from June 2014). I'm guessing this will be a NW12, which doesn't require stormwater, so we'd be fine with 3 copies. If you're ok with an electronic submittal, you could have them submit 2 paper copies (one for CO and one for WRC) with their application fee, just make sure they state that you told them that was okay in a cover memo so when we get it we don't ask for more copies!
