Box 769 Siler City,NC 27344 Subject: Pretreatment Review of Industrial User Pretreatment Permit Program: Town of Siler City Wastewater Treatment Plant: Town of Siler City WWTP NPDES#: NC0026441, Chatham County Dear Mr. McCorquodale: The Municipal Unit of the Division of Water Resources has reviewed the new Industrial User Pretreatment Permit (IUP) submitted by the Town of Siler City for the following Significant Industrial User (SILT). The submission was received by the Division on December 1st, 2022. Revisions and supporting documents were received by the Division on April 21st,2023,May 5th,2023,May 20t'', 2023, and May 30th,2023,respectively. IUP# SIU NAME 005 Town of Siler City Water Treatment Plant The review indicates that the]UP is adequate and meets the minimum requirements of 15A NCAC 2H.0916 and 40 CFR 403.8(f)(1)(iii).The allocation table,maintained in the Division's database,has been updated accordingly. Within 180 days of the effective date of any reissued or modified NPDES permit the permittee would be required to submit to the Division a written technical evaluation of the need to revise local limits (i.e., an updated IWS,or documentation of why one is not needed). This action may include revising, updating, or adding to the list of Significant Industrial Users(SIUs).Pursuant to 15A NCAC 211.0907(b)either the Division or the permittee may initiate pretreatment program revisions. Federal and State pretreatment regulations require the local delegated pretreatment program to effectively control and document the discharge of wastewater from Significant/Categorical Industrial Users to the POTW. It is the POTW's responsibility to ensure that these objectives are consistently met.
