Subject: Stormwater Monitoring
Valspar
On April 26,2023, Lauren Goyne of Charlotte -Mecklenburg Storm Water Services (CMSWS) sampled
stormwater runoff from the subject facility located at 10300 Claude Freeman Drive in Charlotte, North
Carolina. The monitoring was conducted under authority granted by Charlotte City Code Chapter 18, Section
18-82.
The monitoring was also conducted as part of a cooperative working agreement between Mecklenburg County
and the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) — Division of Energy, Mineral and Land
Resources (DEMLR). NCDEQ — DEMLR has been copied on this report and made aware of monitoring results
regarding the facility's NPDES permit.
Total rainfall during the rain event in which samples were collected at your facility was 0.24". Rainfall data was
reported by the United States Geologic Survey (USGS) real-time station CRN-58 (Rain Gauge at Mallard
Elementary). CMSWS sampled stormwater runoff from Outfall 001. A summary table of results is attached to
this report.
Please see the attached table for more information on your monitoring results. CMSWS analyzed the monitoring
results from your facility by comparing them to Storm Water Permit benchmark parameters as well as to local
and state stream standards (CMSWS Action Levels and North Carolina Water Quality Standards). The results
indicate that the analyzed parameters did not exceed the benchmark parameters or local and state stream
standards.
Based on this analysis, CMSWS recommends that you continue to conduct proper outdoor processes, material
storage practices and overall housekeeping at your facility.
Please contact me at (910) 523-8072 if you have any questions or need additional information. For questions
specifically regarding NPDES stormwater permitting, please contact Jeffery Chandler with NCDEQ — DEMLR
at (704) 663-1699.
