Dear Mr. Dowden:
Enclosed are one original and two copies of an application for renewal of NPDES
Permit NC0089536 (EPA Forms 1 & 2C — Minor Industrial) for the JGW wet
decking operations.
Included with the renewal application is a Site Location Map,Aerial Photo Locator,
Site Property Boundary and analytical reports from sampling of wet decking runoff.
Sludge management for our operation consists primarily of managing bark and
floating solids captured by screens at the outfall. JGW currently incorporates
screened solids into bark and mulch generated by the sawmill, which is sold as by-
product.

We buy pine and hardwood logs from various suppliers.Logs are unloaded and sealed,then they are sorted by
series.Logs are then put into rows on concrete pads.We wet deck these logs from around April to December to
prevent blue stain in logs.Logs are then put into our sawmill,de-barked and sawn into lumber.Grade lumber is
stacked and placed on yard to air dry then after the lumber is air dried,we place it into dry kilns for further drying to
co 6-8%moisture content for hardwood&14-19%for pine lumber.Lumber is then taken off stacking sticks,graded&
packaged for sale.
