Facility Summary
Valley Creek Apartments are a small residential apartment housing about 20 residents. It has a private
closed system that feeds into the onsite Valley Creek WWTP. This is a minor facility (flow < 1 MGD) with
a permitted wastewater discharge of 0.005 MGD. The permit for this facility was originally issued in March
of 1982.

Renewal Summary
This renewal contains the following changes:
• Updated A (2) Electronic Reporting to reflect most updated language and added facility grade.

• Facility grade updated to WW2 in 2018, monitoring frequencies have been updated to reflect
change.
• Added effluent monitoring for turbidity to determine compliance with 15A NCAC 02B.0211 (21).
• Added effluent monitoring for dissolved oxygen to determine compliance with 15A NCAC
02B.0211 (6).
• Added instream monitoring for temperature to determine compliance with 15A NCAC 02B.0211
(18).

Compliance History
Notes from WSRO — There were a couple of issues here. The drive unit is OOS with no back
up. The ORC is hand cranking the unit. Additionally, there was exposed PVC pipes. I check in
frequently on this facility. If I get any more, I'll pass along to permit writer. Upgrades are being
done, and I will keep reaching out for updates.
No recorded enforcements in the last 5 years, and most recent NOV was in 2014 for Coliform.
