form.

Total buffer impacts
1c. Comments: The total disturbed area in zone #2 is 192 sf which includes a 10' perimeter area of temporary
disturbance around the house during construction. This lot is extremely constricted due to the buffers and the 100
yr. flood plain. Typical new homes in this subdivision are in excess 5,000 HSF. The cost of the lot dictates an
above average size home to make the house/lot ratio economically feasible. Minimal impact of only 66 sf into
Zone #2 is the least intrusive option available.
D. Impact Justification and Mitigation
1. Avoidance and Minimization
1 a. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing project.
i
We will install rain barrels for the gutters on the stream side of the home. These will be maintained by the owner
on a regular basis. The barrels will be emptied before a large forecasted rain event.
1 b. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques
We will set up silt fencing to protect all areas from any construction traffic that are not part of this application. No
disturbance will happen in Zone 1 or outside the areas proposed in i Zone 2.

2. Buffer Mitigation
2a. Will the project result in an impact within a protected riparian buffer that requires buffer ❑ Yes ® No
mitigation?
2b. If yes, then identify the square feet of impact to each zone of the riparian buffer that requires mitigation and
calculate the amount of mitigation required in the table below.

E. Diffuse Flow Plan
i
Ali buffer impacts and high ground impacts require diffuse flow or other form of ❑ Diffuse flow
stormwater treatment. Include a plan that fully documents how diffuse flow will be ®ether BMP
maintained. If a Level Spreader is proposed, attach a Level Spreader Supplement Form.
If due to site constraints, a BMP other than a level spreader is proposed, please provide a
plan for stormwater treatment as outlined in Chapter 8 of the NC Stormwater BMP
