Good morning,
Thank you for the report, I appreciate the update. If the EC measures are not supplying adequate
control, it is imperative that these measures are “beefed up “or additional measures are installed as
soon as possible. Has Jason been to the site recently? Conti needs to be proactive going forward, we
should not have any sediment loss or turbidity leaving the project.
I’m thankful you guys were able to get out and inspect the site during a rain event, that’s very
helpful! Would you please ask Conti to provide turbidity reports with their update.
Thank you,
Hannah

Hi Tom, Hannah and Stephen,
Jon and I wanted to let you know that we went to several areas on the subject project today during
the rain event to see how existing EC was functioning, particularly in areas that have recent fill and
clearing. We visited the new fill section along NC 210, Holiday Dr. area, and US 17 in the vicinity of
the 78” pipe. Although there likely has been several inches of rain, we noted many areas where EC
was not able not or sufficient to slow or control the amount of flow and there was turbid water
leaving the project. Due to the current conditions, we do not expect to know the full extent of
sediment losses until the water recedes. Jon has been in touch with Ben Meyer today and will be
submitting additional information after we receive it.
Feel free to contact either of us with questions. We will be providing an update on Monday.
Thanks,
Anneliese
