Describe the existing conditions on the site and the general land use in the vicinity of the project at the time of this application: The site is in a developed suburban single family subdivision but remains in a natural wooded (forested) state. 3b. Attach an 8'/2 x 11 excerpt from the most recent version of the published County NRCS Soil Survey Map depicting the project site 3d. List the total estimated linear feet of all existing streams (intermittent and perennial) on the property: 192 [in. ft. 3e. Explain the purpose of the proposed project: The home was originally designed to comply with surveyed information that established the required front setback at 26' (based on Raleigh Zoning requirements for Infill Lots). Recently I discovered that the property is in the Brookhaven Overlay Area and is subject to a 50' front setback. After discussions with City Planning, it was determined that the only way to build the house with a two car carport would be to move the carport to the south side of the home and keep it behind the 50' setback. Construction of a new single family residence 3f. Describe the overall project in detail, including the type of equipment to be used: This is a request for an additional 305 sq ft of Zone 2 impervious area —210 additional sq ft for the house and 95 additional sq ft for the drive (see attached drawing) — to the project initially approved as noted below. The residence will be a one story structure with an attached 2 car carport. The construction is slab on grade with a poured in place concrete retaining wall along the north and east walls of the structure. All other construction will be wood, a few structural steel columns and a small amount of brick veneer. The carport roof will be a green vegetated flat roof. The main roof of the home will is designed as a "butterfly" roof with a significant central water collecting scupper that will channel and collect water into cisterns to be slowly released into the ground or to be used as landscape irrigation. A silt and construction limitation fence will be installed along the 30' Zone 1 buffer line prior to the commencement of any work. The line will be staked out by a licensed surveyor. Only vegetation that impacts the footprint of the house will be removed: there will be not disturbance of Zone 1. In the course of construction there will be grading for the foundation, concrete trucks for the pouring of the wall and slabs and then only typical small scale residential construction. The parking area will be gravel. The landscaping will be designed to restore as much of the natural ambience of the site as possible. 4. Jurisdictional Determinations 4a.
