Sludge Handling Plan for William DeBruhl Water Treatment Plant
Permit NC0056961
On an annual basis the solids are thickened by decanting the supernatant water from the
surface of the waste lagoon. The thickened solids are removed by a private contractor and
hauled to a waste treatment facility. Currently the amount removed is 100,000 gallons,
which for the last couple of years has been all the solids that could be removed
mechanically.
