Site inspection was conducted on May 17, 2023 by Kevin Mitchell with the Asheville Regional Office. Mark Davis,
Crystal Amschler, Kevin Barnett, Dave McHenry, and Reid Whitehead were present during the mpsection. The
following are items that need attention:
Section CA
- Station 114+00 LT - Triple barrel culvert on Sweetwater Creek is under construction. Work area is being dewatered.
Section CB
- Station 271+00 LT (Site 12)- Rip rap at outlet needs to be embedded per plan and to meet the conditions of the permit.
Section CC
- Station 48+00-49+50 RT (Site 11) - Channel change is piping and may need additional substrate to fill voids especially
the lower end. Sediment was observed in the JS downstream of SDO. This was resolved and cleaned up on 5.18.23.
Photo documentation was received on 5.18.23.
- Station 67+00 RT (Site 14) - Box culvert extension is under construction.
Continue to meet NPDES cover requirements.
