Subject: Modifications to Self -Monitoring
Requirements
NPDES Permit No. NCO039152
Capex, Inc.
Buncombe County
Dear Mr. Kuykendall:
As a result of the review of the self -monitoring program contained in
NPDES Permit No. NC0039152, it appears that a minor modification is appro-
priate to give consideration for the type of wastewater treatment system
serving Capex, Inc. Specifically, since history documents that the septic
tank subsurface sand filter operates at approximately 120 gpd, and since
effluent chlorination will not be required until water qualtiv problems occur
(See Part III of this permit), daily effluent monitoring will not be necessary.
Therefore, in accordance with 15 NCAC 2H.0114, the self -monitoring program
for Capex, Inc., as contained in NPDES Permit No. NCO039152 is hereby amended
to change daily effluent monitoring for temperature to once per week and to
delete the residual chlorine monitoring requirement. These modifications will
be effective on October 1, 1984, and will cease to be effective upon need for
effluent disinfection facilities as discussed above. All other terms and con-
ditions not herein addressed remain unchanged.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Ashe-
ville Regional Office for assistance.
Sincerely yours,
Origimal Signed By
