Inspection Summary:
On 3/28/2023, Lauren Armeni and I (Daniel Boss)conducted an inspection of a portion of the Waynesville Collection System
in response to a complaint. We met with Wayne Bolin and Jeff Evans during this inspeciton.
We found evidence of sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs) from a manhole at Evergreen Packaging at 81 Old Howell Mill Rd in
Waynesville. There was debris around the manhole rim and along a path to Richland Creek. The manhole lid appeared to
be bolted down tight.
There is a bar screen and open channel immediately downstream of the manhole that appeared to have some evidence of
overflows. There were some rags and solids on the surface above the bar screen and channel.
Mr. Evans and Mr. Bolin assured us they would have their staff monitor this location closely for any SSOs going forward.
