Inspection Summary:
Site inspection was conducted on May 12, 2023 by Kevin Mitchell with the Asheville Regional Office. Eugene McClure
was present during the inspection. The following are items that need attention:
- Station 22+50 LT (King Creek) - Add coir fiber matting to the banks and ensure disturbed areas are meeting the
NPDES cover requirements.
- Station 40+75 LT (Dye Branch) - No erosion control measures were in place adjacent to the JS. Photo documentation
was received by the end of the day showing silt fence and coir fiber matting were installed. Recommend that the pit
adjacent to the JS be dewatered before forecasted rain events.
- Station 24+00 LT (King Creek) - Unpermitted fill (rip rap) was observed on the stream bank of King Creek. DWR
needs to be notified of unpermitted fill in the project area.
NPDES records were up to date and signed.
