My name is Peyam Barghassa. I live in Wake County. I'm concerned about the moving of coal ash from one site to another across our State. It doesn't solve the problem of the toxic heavy metals that remain in that ash. I don't understand why NCDENR and Duke Energy are not giving serious consideration to a new technology that can economically and safely remove those heavy metals from the ash. The product is called Chelok from Periodic Products and has been in use for a few years now in the removal of metals from water in a number of industries. They just did a paper showing that metals such as lead and cadmium can be removed using Chelok from mining waste as well as ash: httD:// www .DeriodicDroducts.com/comDanv /technical- information Please contact them through their website to learn more: www.DeriodicDroducts.com Maybe the ash can be cleaned on site at a fraction of the cost of moving toxic ash to just another location. Thank you, Peyam Barghassa 6104 Woodcrest Dr. Raleigh, NC 27603
