Box 1358 Burlington, NC 27216-1358 NORTH CAROLINA Environmental Quality April 10, 2023 SUBJECT: Compliance Evaluation Inspection City of Burlington Wastewater Collection System Wastewater Collection System Permit #: WQCS00008 Alamance County Ron Boone and Jesse Barnes, of the Winston-Salem Regional Office (WSRO) of the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR or the Division), conducted a compliance evaluation inspection of the City of Burlington's wastewater collection system on March 23rd, 2023. They met with Donny West, Andy McCoy, and Travis Moore for the inspection. Inspection findings are summarized below and are detailed in the attached compliance inspection report. Mr. Boone and Mr. Barnes noted no violations during the inspection. The only item of concern noted during the inspection was the vegetation overgrowth on the Pace Drive aerial. This aerial is 8" ductile iron pipe and is about 280' long. This aerial appears to be in good condition and functioning properly but should be cleared of vegetation. No further action is required, however, you are reminded that in accordance with NC General Statute 143- 215.6A, a civil penalty of not more than twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) may be assessed by the Secretary of the Division of Water Resources against any person who is required but fails to apply for or to secure a permit required by NCGS 143-215.1, or who violates or fails to act in accordance with the terms, conditions, or requirements of such permit.
