The Water/Sewer on call investigator received the call and arrived on the scene at 8:46 p.m. to find manhole # 2807 overflowing. He immediately called the on call crew in to fix the issue. During this time it was raining with heavy downpours. The City of Asheboro Water/Sewer on call crew arrived and immediately started jetting the main from MH# 2801 to MH# 2807 with a Vactor combination truck. The crew removed the blockage and found that a combination of roots, rags, and the amount of rain had caused the blockage. The crew also root cut and TV'd the 10 inch main to make sure no other obstructions were in the line. The City of Asheboro requests that NCDENR refrain from taking any enforcement action as a result of this incident. There was no environmental impact and we responded immediately working in the middle of very heavy downpours of rain. Thank you for your consideration and if you have any questions please contact me at (336) 626-1234 ext. 2205.
