See email below. I inspected the project today and we are in the process of maintaining our EC measures. We lost
material into the 2 small wetland areas near the box culvert. We are recovering what we can and will seed and mulch in
place whatever remains with our riparian seed mix. We lost turbid water into the river but I didn't see actual sediment
deposits. The two large basins that you see in the pictures are basins that we added above what the plans called for.
Thank goodness we did. A good portion of the hospital site work drains right down on top of us so it's a real challenge
when we get heavy rain. As you may recall, it's very steep terrain.

Heath,
I wanted to give you a heads up regarding the BR Hospital project. We had some pretty intense rainfall in Blowing Rock
this afternoon. These pictures are during the first rain event 2" of rain in 30 minutes. It is hard to tell what is deposited
until the water level lowers. There is an existing 12 or 15" pipe in the permitted area (not installed by NCDOT) and this
pipe was stopped up with Rip Rap and debris. After this pipe plugged up, the water diverted across the road access and
caused this damage. Our project is responsible for carrying a lot of the actual hospital water off of the mountain and
this is what caused the damage.
I will send you more pictures tomorrow after the rain event is over. I am sure we may meet out there as well. I just
wanted to touch base with you and let you know. Please let us know what we will need to do moving forward.
Travis

We received over 2" of rain in about 30 mins. We also got more rain but that was the most concentrated.
